Churchill participated in The Boot Campaign to honor American soldiers through the nationwide "Pushups for Charity" event. To celebrate the occasion, the team donated a mortgage-free home to a military veteran on Armed Forces Day.
Pushups For Charity is held through The Boot Campaign, a national nonprofit that provides assistance to military and their family members through key initiatives. The program began in 2010 to raise funds and awareness for men and women who are currently serving in America’s armed forces. Participants can donate money or register to attend one of the more than 90 events that are hosted nationwide and complete as many pushups as possible within 90 seconds. This year, Pushups For Charity set goals to raise $1 million and complete 1.4 million pushups.
Through Churchill’s donation and in conjunction with The Boot Campaign and the Military Warriors Support Foundation, which provides a program to support veterans’ transition to homeownership, Thompson will receive a mortgage-free home during a ceremony on May 17 at Herschel Greer Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. Since the home is located in Atlanta, Churchill’s Kennesaw, Ga. branch will coordinate with Thompson to offer assistance with his relocation and other needs during his first year of homeownership.
“Our servicemen and women and their families make the ultimate sacrifice for our country so that we can enjoy our freedoms. They deserve more than anyone can ever give them,” said Mike Hardwick, founder and president of Churchill Mortgage. “The Boot Campaign’s Pushups For Charity is a great opportunity to recognize these brave veterans and we are honored to provide a home for one of our own.”
